YSC Global School and NICO Project is operated by a non-profit organization Youth Support Center in Fussa City, Tokyo.
We provide Japanese language education and academic subjects support for the children of immigrant and with multicultural backgrounds. All of our teachers are experienced professionals, not volunteers.
To assist the children during this difficult time due to COVID-19, we open our web-based study program via Zoom, a video conference service. Children like below are welcome:
◆ With limited Japanese proficiency
◆ Having a hard time with their homework from school
Target: Children and youth of immigrant and with multicultural backgrounds.
*6 years old - 49 years old
* Adult can join Japanese language class only
Period: May 7 to June 3, 2020
*After that, the period will be extended until the suspension of all school closures.
Date and time: Monday through Friday, 9:10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
*The schedule depends on which class you attend.
Venue: Zoom (online conference system)
Contents:
Japanese language education, subject study support and self-study support for school work, all by are experienced professional teachers.
Cost: Free of charge until June 3, as special measures to prevent the spread of new coronavirus infection
*Depending on the course, there may be 500 yen to 10,000 yen cost for teaching materials.
*For families who cannot afford the cost of teaching materials, we can lend them free of charge.

*In principle, after the free period, we will guide you to a paid course.
*Internal scholarships are available for families who have financial difficulties in paying their expenses. (25% to 100% tuition reduction, depending on the financial situation)
●Japanese language classes: Pre-Classes, Bridge Classes, Jump Classes, NICO Kids' Classes
For children, youth and adult (up to 49 years old) who will learn Japanese for the first time.
*Pre and Bridge classes are 20 day-course of 5 classes per each day, and Jump classes are 8 day-course of 5 classes per each day. In general, Pre,Bridge and Jamp classes are available to people aged 11 and over. If necessary, we will have level check test at the first time.
●High School Entrance Exam Preparation class: Prep Class
Measures for high school entrance examinations for students who want to enter senior high school in Japan. This class is for those who are over 15 years old coming to Japan after graduating from junior high school in their own country, or already graduated from a junior high school in Japan but haven’t entered senior high school yet.
*Japanese language proficiency of jump class or higher is required.
●School Preparation Class : Step Class
For children who are newly came to Japan and haven’t enrolled schools yet, don’t attend schools regularly, and have difficulty studying at school due to lack of Japanese language skills, We help them prepare for going (back) to school, approximately 11 years old to 14 years old children can take this class.
* Japanese language proficiency above the jump class is required to take the course.
●Subject study support: After School Elementary and junior high school classes
Review and preview of school subject for elementary and junior high school students who normally go to school.In order to take this class, students need intermediate to advanced Japanese language level.
Elementary school students can study intermediate Japanese reading, Japanese language and arithmetic. Junior high school students can study 5 subjects.
+Special Session! Homework Support Room
During the period of school closure, we provide the self-study support room to help children do their homework and assignments given from elementary, middle and high schools.
Students can ask questions to our school staff about areas they don't understand, or meet teachers and children from all over the country during recess.
They can spend time chatting with other students as well.
*Children can use this room only when they have homework from the school. To the students in this room, we don’t provide studying materials. So, after all the homework is done, we introduce them to the regular class above. If needed, children can take both homework support room and our regular classes at the same time.
