Job and Settlement Preparation Course for Migrants(JSPC)

The Job and Settlement Preparation Course for Migrants (JSPC) is a course providing the support necessary to live in Japan with peace of mind for those in need, such as those who have lost income or lost their jobs due to Covid-19.

The course is offered by the Youth Support Center, a non-profit organization that has been helping foreign children and young people learn Japanese and find work since 2010.

Overview

You can participate it in-class (the school is located at Adachi-Ku, Tokyo) and online as well.

Japanese language learning with expert teachers, job support (resume writing, interviewing, job searching, seminars on Japanese used in the workplace, individual consultations, etc.) are all free of charge.

*Some programs may require a materials fee.
*Please let us know if you do not have a device or Wi-Fi to take the course online. (We may not be able to lend them due to limited availability.)


[Target person]
*People who are unemployed or have reduced income due to Covid-19
*Those who do not understand Japanese and are unable to obtain necessary information or systems.
*Parents of children with international backgrounds, young people with international backgrounds, refugees, etc. who have trouble finding out a place to study Japanese.


[Participation fee] Free of charge.

[Venue] You can choose either 1) or 2).

1) In-class

*13 minutes walk from Takenotsuka Station on the Tobu Railway Isesaki Line(Sky Tree Line)


2) Online
Taking classes online (zoom)


[Period]June 10, 2021 - February 18, 2022
*For the Primary Japanese Course and the Japanese Course for Work, please check the following schedule with dates when each Period starts.
*A new class will start every Period.
*You can start from any Period.

1st Period: June 10, 2021
2nd Period: July 8, 2021
3rd Period: August 16, 2021
4th Period: September 15, 2021
5th Period: October 18, 2021
6th Period: November 17, 2021
7th Period: December 15, 2021
8th Period: January 21, 2022

*Other support can start at any time.
*The length of support varies from person to person. It is usually between one and four months.


[Support Details]

Primary Japanese Course (Level 1 to Level 3)

*This is a full-time course to learn beginner-level Japanese.
*Monday - Friday
*9:10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
*48 sessions maximum (about 2 months and a half)

Japanese Course for Work
*This course is designed for those who are at a higher Japanese level than beginners to learn

Japanese for work or in the workplace.
*Monday - Friday
10:10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Conversation class for the workplace)
*1:10 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Japanese class for job hunting)


Japanese Course for Settling in Japan
*In this seminar, you will learn about information on Covid-19 in Japan, medical care, welfare, and other systems, as well as the Japanese language necessary to live safely.
*Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
*The seminar schedule changes every month. Please check the schedule before attending.

Employment Support / Career Consultation
*You can participate in seminars on how to write a resume, have an interview, find a job, etc., as well as lectures on the Japanese employment system and social security, and individual

Consultations to meet your individual needs.
*Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
*The schedule for seminars, lectures, and consultations changes every month. Please check the schedule before attending.

Other individual support
*We provide consultation, accompaniment, and support for document preparation according to each individual's situation.
